According
to our Holy Tradition, St. Luke, a Greek doctor and painter, that wrote
his Gospel based to the narrations of the Virgin Mary, was the first who
painted her. He painted four icons. One is in Cyprus and an other one is
in Greece, at the Mega Spilaion Monastery.
